Thanks for the information on chopsticks. I hadn't heard of the problem with a forest shortage in China, but it's now part of the problem with framing in houses in Canada and the US. Framing adds about $24000 to a house now, much more than ever before. Chopsticks in the US are not a cause of the problem, of course. Drought, forest fires, bark beetles, here and in Canada are suspected.
