A couple of years ago, I purchased a Chineasy book with Chinese pictographs. The first thing I noticed was that the language, much like TCM, is contextual. Mother and horse have the same character, as you know, and caution is warranted when writing a letter home to Mom. I know you wouldn't have a problem, but us novices might.
